Maybe $2.3 BillionBy By Jay SorgiThe cost of reconstructing the Zoo Interchange could be a lot heftier than that of the Marquette Interchange: anywhere between $2.07 billion and $2.3 billion. That's the estimate the state puts on redoing the state's busiest interchange. That's three times as much as the Marquette Interchange cost, and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation says it's because of more miles of roadway to work on and more businesses to relocate. The Journal Sentinel says the estimated cost comes from a project start time of 2012, but Governor Doyle has said he wants to wait on the Zoo until the I-94 expansion south of Milwaukee is done, and that $1.9 billion project probably won't end until 2016.
