Man Accused of Repeatedly Stabbing Elderly Woman
HAYWARD, Wis. (AP) -- Court records say a man charged with homicide used two knives to repeatedly stab an elderly woman in her Sawyer County home while she prayed and begged for her life.
A 15-year-old accused accomplice to the murder of 93-year-old Irena Roszak told investigators he was in another room when he heard the woman screaming and Christopher Roalson yelling "worship the devil. God's not here today."
The 27-year-old Roalson is charged with first-degree intentional homicide and burglary. Prosecutors say Roalson stabbed the woman with two knives and hit her with a chair. The teenager, Austin Davis, is charged as an adult with being party to the burglary and homicide.
A criminal complaint says Roalson broke a window to get into Roszak's house and was looking for items to steal when the woman confronted him.
