Brewers, Bucks No Longer Fly MidwestBy Dan O'DonnellMidwest Airlines has terminated its charter service, meaning the Milwaukee Brewers and Bucks and a number of other professional sports teams will no longer receive the "best care in the air." "We have effectively eliminated charter service as of the end of November," said Midwest spokesman Mike Brophy. "We discontinued service on the MD-80 aircraft that we used for charter service. It was no longer economically feasible." In addition to the Bucks and Brewers, Midwest provided charter service to Major League Baseball's Kansas City Royals as well as the St. Louis Blues, Nashville Predators, and Atlanta Thrashers of the National Hockey League. The Bucks have been chartering flights from Air Canada for their recent road trip, and it was not immediately clear what the Brewers would do for charter service for their upcoming season. |
