Taking "Staycations" in WisconsinBy By Dan O'Donnell with Jay SorgiEaster break is just a week away for most schools, but with money tight for many families, the solution might be a "staycation." Unfortunately if you want to go out of town during your upcoming spring or easter break, you've got to pay, and that has people with tight financial situations to opting for staycations this spring break. "A lot of families around the country are deciding, with the cost of traveling being such a big hassle, that people are staying a little closer to home," said Wheel and Sprocket President Chris Kegel. His suggestion? Hop on your bike. "People can use a bike vacation as a great way of enjoying Wisconsin, enjoying the scenery we have here. It's a great place to celebrate a staycation with your family. He says to look at some of the trails if you're looking for a place to start. "The Elroy-Sparta Trail, which has a one-mile long tunnel that goes right through the area in Western Wisconsin, and Door County is also a super place for bike riding. Almost anywhere in Wisconsin is just fantastic for bike riding." Maybe it's not a bike ride, but a day trip to an indoor waterpark or a stop at the museum, zoo, Discovery World, or just a day at home with the family - so long as you can think of a fun activity, you can have a great vacation.
