Arrowhead H.S. Student has Bacterial Meningitis

  • Print

The Waukesha County Health Department confirmed Friday that a student at Arrowhead High School has Bacterial Meningitis.

The student attends the North Campus.  The child's name, age, and gender wasn't released.

Bacterial Meningitis is an inflammation of the lining of the spinal cord and brain.  It can be passed through kissing, sharing a drink or utensil, or sharing a cigarette.

Superintendent Craig Jefson said officials urged parents to call the doctor if their child showed any signs of symptoms, including fever, headache, stiff neck, and vomiting.

"Our bases are covered," Jefson told WTMJ.  "Fortunately, there's no outbreak."
