Driver Busted After Returning to Hit-and-Run Scene
RACINE, Wis. (AP) -- A suspected drunken driver was arrested after returning to the scene of a hit-and-run crash and then leading police on a chase in Racine County.
Police say the 18-year-old Caledonia man drove a Jeep into two parked cars Tuesday night, then drove away.
One of the cars was owned by a police officer, who called authorities. Investigators were still on the scene of the hit-and-run, when the man drove by. A witness recognized the man as the hit-and-run driver and police began a pursuit.
The driver of the Jeep and a passenger were arrested after abandoning the vehicle following the chase.
