Watch for Frostbite, Hypothermia
Emergency officials warn that this is the time we need to be on the lookout for frostbite and hypothermia.
With the temperatures Southeastern Wisconsin is in for this week, it will only take 15 minutes for frostbite to set in.
Signs of frostbite include a loss of feeling and a whitening in your fingers and toes.
Symptoms of hypothermia include uncontrollable shivering and drowsiness.
People also shouldn't overexert themselves shoveling because cold weather puts a strain on the heart.
