Police Warn About Winter Driving

By Elizabeth Braun

Many of the problems on the roads are caused by people driving too fast for conditions.

Police say people with trucks and SUVs tend to drive fast when its snowing because they believe they have better traction; but Racine Police officer Mark Trossen says those drivers still need to be careful

"As far as slowing down and stopping, they are held to the same standards as what a normal vehicle would be," says Trossen.

Police can still write tickets for speeding if people are going below the posted speed limit if road conditions warrant that.
