Stephen Green purchased a forclosed house for just $2 at a Sheriff's aution. The home has a market value of $245,000. "Well close," says Green, "Except I only had to spend 20 cents. In Wisconsin you only put 10 percent down." There is a catch. The buyer will have to pay more than $150,000 for the remaining mortagage and property taxes. The home once belonged to a woman who purchased the house with her boyfriend who moved out. She bought it out of forclosure and couldn't close on the deal. She says this is a very difficult thing to see. "After everything you put into the house stuff that you do for your house and then somebody gets it for $2." There is a happy ending though, Green says he wants to help the woman keep the house |
