Selling Packers tickets on eBay is nothing new, but Tom Carlson isn't a typical online profiteer, eschewing an expected $800-plus windfall to benefit Wisconsinites with multiple sclerosis (MS).

"For me to give the tickets up, it was difficult," the lifelong Packer backer explained.  "But I didn't want to do it for profit.  I thought I'd do it to benefit the MS Society's snowmobile ride."

The Wisconsin Chapter of the National MS Society's 2008 Snowmobile Tour will be held at the Potawotami Northern Lights Casino in Wabeno from January 31st to February 4th.

"We probably average about 150 snowmobile riders," said Carlson, who lives in Dayton, Ohio but has participated in the ride for years.  "It probably generates about $300,000 a year to fight MS here in Wisconsin."

This year, though, it will generate a bit more thanks to Tom's efforts.

"I sold my tickets online last week and got about $810 for them.  It was a little scary since it was my first time every using eBay!"

With his second, he said, "the sky's the limit."

"I would have loved to have attended both playoff games in Green Bay.  My children, my family, my friends would have as well, but sometimes those sacrifices are simple for those of us in relatively good health.  This was my way of contributing and trying to drive awareness to find a cure for MS."
