The Giants' road to Green Bay will take a stop off in Appleton before the NFC Championship Game.

Packers' opponents almost always stay at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton before taking the half-hour bus ride to Lambeau Field before the game.

NFL rules mandate that the Giants come into Wisconsin on Friday to prepare for the NFC Championship, so the team will most probably spend a two-night stay there.

It's not like crashing at the Ritz Carlton or the Four Seasons, though you do have Vince Lombardi's Steakhouse.

The Giants might be quoting Vince Lombardi's "What the hell's going on out here?" if Packers fans keep them awake on Saturday night.

That's a long standing tradition, especially when the Bears come to town.

There are measures teams take to make sure players are taken care of and that potential problems are avoided.

Teams put security guards on each floor, bring in their own food so it doesn't get doctored up, and have players choose assumed names for the receptionist.

Sometimes, pro athletes will choose names of cartoon characters, so if you call the hotel and ask for Daffy Duck, don't be shocked if Giants quarterback Eli Manning answers the phone.

It's not too looney to be possible.
