UNDATED (AP) -- Some theaters around Wisconsin will ignore an NFL directive and show the Green Bay Packers' playoff game on the big screen.
The Rivoli in La Crosse, the Majestic in Madison and the Fox Bay Cinema Grill in Whitefish Bay intend to show the game.
The NFL argues showing the games on theater screens violates copyright law because it's a special event.
NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy says it's much different than showing the game at a sports bar.
The NFL has sent cease-and-desist letters to theaters and even churches, warning them of the potential copyright violation.
Earlier this week, Marcus Theatres said it would comply with the NFL request.
