  • Print

Click here to listen to Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Jay Sorgi report on the passing of MPS Board Member Jennifer Morales' proposal for domestic partner benefits, one in which she would benefit directly.

All domestic partners of MPS employees are closer to getting benefits.

The Milwaukee School Board Finance Committee gave 4-1 approval for a recommendation to allow all domestic partners to receive health benefits, regardless of sexual orientation.

Jennifer Morales, a school board member, drafted the proposal. She's a lesbian, and her pratner, Tina Owen, works for MPS as a teacher.

The Journal Sentinel stated that Morales would benefit with lifetime health insurance if the proposal passes, and it's likely to do so at a full School Board meeting next week.
