A former teacher and soccer coach at Heritage Christian High School in Milwaukee has been arrested for sexual assault. Jason Crary was arrested Friday at Worthington Christian High School in Columbus, Ohio, where he has worked since leaving Wisconsin in 1999.
Crary, 36, was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court with four felony counts of sexual assault by a school staff member, each of which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a fine of $10,000.
"We are very saddened by the news," said Heritage Christian spokesperson Debbie Piering. "We are cooperating with the authorities and praying for all involved."
According to The Columbus Dispatch, Crary has taught English and coached girls' soccer at Worthington Christian since 1999. He was arrested three days after the school's boys' soccer coach resigned over past allegations of sexual misconduct.
Crary is being held in the Franklin County jail and will be extradited to Milwaukee to face charges. |
