Teenagers Arrested in NW Side Arson Spree

By Tim Lethlean

Click here to listen to Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Tim Lethlean report on a neighborhood that feels that it's much safer after two men who allegedly committed a series of arson crimes were arrested.

A northwest side neighborhood on edge can start to relax after the arrests of two alleged arsonists.

For months, people living near 99th and Good Hope have wondered if the next house broken into or toolshed lit on fire might be their own.

"My mind can't wrap around the process of somebody setting fire to a house where they know people are," said Daphne Koehnke, a victim of arson.

Now, people are relieved Milwaukee police have two men, both 18 years old, in custody for the crime spree.

Authorities will be taking the long line of arson cases to the district attorney later today.

No word yet on when charges might be issued.
