APPLETON, Wis. (AP) -- The Outagamie County Sheriff's department says two young men were killed this afternoon when their car apparently failed to stop and hit an oncoming vehicle.

Outagamie County Coroner Ruth Wulgaert says the two men were pronounced dead at the scene.

She identified them as 23-year-old Cory M. Keller of Grand Chute and 22-year-old Drew S. Aleaugh of Appleton.

The sheriff's department says the accident happened around 1:30 pm in the town of Cicero. They say there were three young men in a car that, according to a preliminary investigation, failed to stop at a stop sign.

A news release says they hit an oncoming SUV that was pulling a horse trailer and two horses.

The two women in that vehicle were airlifted to a hospital.

The third male in the other car was taken by ambulance for treatment.
