RACINE -- A 3-year-old boy died from injuries he sustained during an accidental drowning Sunday.
Officers arrived at a home in the 2000 block of Shoop St. around 2:45 p.m. and were advised the boy had been pulled from a pool at the home.
The first patrol officer on scene continued lifesaving efforts, which had been initiated immediately by a neighbor and family member.
Officials said the boy did not have a pulse and was not breathing.
The child was transported to an area hospital in critical condition and later died.
Initial investigation shows the child likely fell into the pool after climbing an exterior support strap.
