Numerous shootings Sunday night leave 1 dead, 4 injured
MILWAUKEE - Three shootings Sunday left at least one person dead, and four more at local hospitals.
The first shooting occurred around 4 p.m. near Auer Ave. and Hopkins Street, according to Deputy Inspector Michael Brunson with Milwaukee Police. A 21-year-old man was shot after a fight at a basketball court, and was taken to a local hospital. His injuries are not life threatening.
The second shooting happened around 10:15 p.m. Sunday near Hopkins and Courtland Ave. A 24-year-old man was shot and killed, and a 23-year-old was shot. He is being treated at a local hospital and is in stable condition. There is not yet a motive for the crime.
Another shooting occurred around 10:30 p.m. Sunday near 29th and Auer Ave. Two men from Milwaukee were shot, a 23-year-old and a 24-year-old. According to Brunson, there is no known motive or suspects at this time. Both men are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
