STURGEON BAY -- The U.S. Coast Guard and sheriff's officials are searching for a woman and two boys who were kayaking in Door County.

Authorities say the 43-year-old woman and two 9-year-old boys left Nicolet Bay in Peninsula State Park about 3 p.m. Thursday and were headed toward Eagle Harbor in Ephraim. When they failed to show up by 6:30, a kayak rental company called 911.

WLUK-TV reports the woman was in one kayak and the boys were in another. All three were wearing life jackets.

The Coast Guard continued to search through the night.
