Leinenkugel Named Commerce SecretaryMADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The state's new commerce secretary has a familiar name. Governor Doyle today named Richard Leinenkugel to the job recently vacated by Jack Fischer. The 50-year-old Leinenkugel is an executive at Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company. He begins his state job on September 29th. Fischer resigned in July after the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Fischer and a top aide billed taxpayers more than $21,000 for three international trips in less than three months this past spring. The newspaper also reported several weeks after Fischer's resignation that he billed taxpayers more than $500 to take limousines while he attended meetings in the Twin Cities. ------ Information from: WKOW-TV, http://www.wkowtv.com (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press.
