It's the dog days of August, but that's not keeping the City of Berlin from celebrating Independence Day this weekend.
To the people of Berlin, Saturday is the Fourth of July.
"We're celebrating our Independence Day," Shirley Holtmeier, with the Berlin Veterans Foundation, told Newsradio 620 WTMJ. "Yes, it's a little late but we're still going to honor the birth of America."
The mid-June flooding forced city in Dodge County to postpone the original event.
"Our river has gone down so now we're able to have our party at the park," Holtmeier said.
Rain or shine, the fireworks start at dusk Saturday night.
