Murder Suicide Suspect Had Issues Beforehand

EDGERTON, Wis. (AP) -- Police say a man killed his wife and then himself in their home in Edgerton.

Chief Tom Klubertanz says in a statement autopsies show Shaun Vordermann shot his wife, Jennifer, at least once and then turned the gun on himself. Four shots were fired in the house, but Klubertanz's statement doesn't say how many times each was hit.

A call to the Edgerton Police Department late Tuesday afternoon rang through to Rock County dispatchers, who took a message. A message left at the Rock County Coroner's Office wasn't immediately returned.

Klubertanz says officers escorted Shaun Vordermann to the Rock County Health Center on Saturday night after his wife called for help because he was threatening suicide. He was released early Sunday morning.

Officers discovered the bodies on Monday morning.
