Report: Murphy Offered Favre Money To Stay Retired

By Elizabeth Braun

If some reports are to believed, the Packers are willing to pay millions to make the Brett Favre situation go away.

Today's TMJ4 is reporting Packers president Mark Murphy offered Favre a total of 20 million dollars, 2 million over the next 10 years, for him to stay retired.

Murphy was in Mississippi Wednesday to talk to Favre. He has issued a statement saying he considers the conversation the two had to be private.

Meanwhile, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has taken no action on Favre's reinstatement request. League officials say he's giving the two sides more time to work out a resolution.
