MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A 6-month-old baby at a Milwaukee day care has died after being left in a vehicle.

Police Lieutenant Victor Beecher says officers responded to the Kuddle Korner Day Kare Thursday afternoon about 4 p.m. after getting the report that the baby was found in the vehicle and wasn't breathing.

He says an initial investigation indicated the child was left in the vehicle for several hours.

The baby's name and other information isn't immediately available.

In June of 2005, 2-year-old Asia Jones died when left all day in a hot day care van in Milwaukee. No one was ever charged in the case. Prosecutors said there was no law to cover such an accident when a driver simply forgot that the girl was left strapped in her seat.
