Cops Save Man's Life During Brookfield Fire

By Jay Sorgi

Two Brookfield police officers are being hailed heros today for saving a man's life during a house fire Newsradio 620 WTMJ told you about earlier this week.

The fire started in the basement of Kenneth Petry's home on West Bedford Avenue.

Petry's wife woke him up and told them they needed to get out. She was able to escape, but Petry, who's 84, was trapped by the heavy smoke and fire.

Minutes later, according to the Journal Sentinel, officers Richard Tank and Susanne Behling responded to the scene and were able to pull the man from the burning house.

Both have received a letter of commendation.
