MAYVILLE, Wis. (AP) -- The Dodge County Sheriff's Department and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the death of a Florida pilot killed while inspecting his helicopter in the Town of Leroy.

Authorities say Walker Dancy McCraw, 70, was struck and killed by a helicopter rotor blade.

Sheriff's officials say a preliminary investigation shows the pilot was crop dusting. After taking off, he thought there might be a problem so he landed to check the equipment. When he got out he was struck by the top rotor blade.

He died at the scene, which was just east of the Horicon Marsh.

Authorities responded about 7 a.m. Thursday.
