The Green Bay Packers say they have evidence of the Minnesota Vikings tampering with quarterback Brett Favre, and they're making their case to the NFL about it.

Apparently, reports of Favre using a team-issued cell phone to call the Vikings about playing with them are not part of their case.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette cites two sources, one within the National Football League and one they state is close to Favre, who both say that Favre does not own a Packers-issued cell phone.

The Packers are attempting to prove the NFL that the Vikings have tried to convince Favre play for them this year.

It's against NFL rules for other teams to talk with him about playing for them, because Favre remains under contract with the Packers.

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported that the NFL sent a security team to discuss tampering charges with officials with the Vikings. If it's proved they tampered with Favre, the NFL could take away draft picks or fine Minnesota.
