A convicted sex offender may have been at it again.

Police say the man went to a Waukesha apartment complex's pool and swam up to an eight-year-old girl.

Officers say he began touching her, but she got away and told her parents.

The parents wrote down the suspect's license plate number. That's how police tracked down the suspect, who was convicted of sexual assault of a child in 2004.

A man claiming to be the head of security at the complex says he got into the pool as a guest of a friend.

The suspect is awaiting sentencing for failing to update his address on the sex offender registry.
