Grandmother Kidnapper Sentenced

SUAMICO, Wis. (AP) -- A Green Bay man who helped an acquaintance attack and rob her grandmother has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Nineteen-year-old Richard Deterville tearfully apologized to his 58-year-old victim during sentencing Friday.

He took responsibility for what he did and said his goal is to be released as a much better person.

He was the last of five people sentenced in the case.

Prosecutors say the group robbed and abducted Alyce Pellus from her Suamico home last year. She was blindfolded, gagged, placed in her truck and driven around for more than two hours.

Among those convicted were Pellus' granddaughter and former daughter-in-law.

Pellus says stolen objects included statues, jewelry and an urn with her husband's ashes.
