Man Asks for Longer Jail SentenceSHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) -- A Plymouth man with multiple convictions for forging checks is going to prison for 5 1/2 years after asking that the judge give him the full penalty behind bars on the latest charges against him. Sheboygan County prosecutors recommended that James Huckins be give three years prison and 2 1/2 years extended supervision. But assistant district attorney Joel Urmanski says the 48-year-old Huckins told the judge when he appeared in court earlier this week that he didn't like his probation agent and probably would violate his release terms anyway. Circuit Judge Gary Langhoff agreed to give Huckins the full term in prison. The new charges, similar to previous offenses, alleged Huckins forged and cashed stolen checks. ------ Information from: The Sheboygan Press, http://www.sheboygan-press.com (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press.
