Gerhard Witte In Court Today

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A man accused of killing his ex-wife in a Milwaukee parking garage after she gave a concert is due back in court.

Gerhard Witte is scheduled to enter a plea today.

The 70-year-old is accused of stabbing 65-year-old Elisabeth Witte in a downtown parking structure in May.

She had just sang with the Milwaukee Symphony Chorus.

Gerhard Witte's attorney, Gerald Boyle, says his client will plead not guilty by mental disease or defect.

Boyle says he's not sure whether Witte will plead guilty to the charge of first-degree intentional homicide. If he does, then a jury will decide whether Witte had a mental illness when he committed the murder.
