More: Six Murders on July 4th
Beyond investigating six murders on the Fourth of July, Milwaukee police had lots on its plate.
Police investigators are trying to solve two more shootings: one on the 1900 block of north 8th Street where a 40 year old woman suffered what police call a minor gunshot wound, and another shooting near Buffum and Center in the Riverwest Neighborhood.
No one is in custody in either incident.
Milwaukee Police had to shut down part of Water Street as well today when hundreds of people packet and emptied the bars on Water.

A Milwaukee police detective said that the case backlog for the late night of July 4th and early morning of July 5th was nearly 10 times the normal, and that's on a day where the department was much more heavily staffed than normal.
