Kathleen Sebelius will be in Milwaukee Friday
MILWAUKEE - Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius will be in Milwaukee Friday afternoon to attend the groundbreaking of a new clinic that is being partially funded by the Affordable Care Act.
Sebelius will also be encouraging people to sign up for coverage on the insurance marketplace. Her visit comes after her department released numbers showing dismal activity. Just over 106,000 people have signed up nationwide, with nearly 27,000 of those registering online through Healthcare.gov.
Fewer than 900 Wisconsin residents were able to sign up online during the first month. Nineteen-thousand Wisconsinites tried buying plans but were unable to. Governor Walker has said he is considering all of his options to ensure 70,000 people will not be without healthcare after Jan. 1.
