WALES - Classmates of a missing Waukesha County teen say they're worried about the girl.

Kathryn Stalbaum had told a friend she was on her way to school before she vanished Tuesday morning.

The talk of what happened to the 15-year-old was on a lot of students minds at Kettle Moraine High School Thursday.

People who know her say she is not the kind of person who would take off or just not show up for school. Which is why they're so worried.

"She didn't ever get in any trouble and she seemed like she wouldn't run away." said classmate Melanie Parchim.

A district wide email went out to parents alerting them to the investigation Thursday.

The school's principal said the district will have counselors available for any student who feels the need to talk.
