WAUKESHA COUNTY - A Waukesha County teen vanished on her way to school. Fifteen-year-old Kathryn Stalbaum hasn't been seen since Tuesday morning.

Take a good look at the pictures. One is the bike Kathryn is believed to have been riding when she disappeared on her way to Kettle Moraine High School Tuesday.

"I'm really hopeful that people will take some time tonight, kind of recall their day and help us out if they've seen Kathryn within the last 24 hours or so," says Inspector Eric Severson of the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department.

Kathryn left for school around 6:15 a.m. Tuesday morning. She had texted a friend she'd ride her bike because she missed the bus. Kathryn never made it to school, and her mother flagged down a deputy when she never made it home that afternoon. She hasn't been heard from since.

"Kathryn is not an individual that has a history of running away," says Severson. "Her family has a good, close relationship with her, she maintains contact."

Kathryn's family didn't want to comment, but wanted us to show you the pictures so you can keep your eyes peeled. She may be wearing jeans, a sweatshirt, pink Nikes, and a teal backpack. Any information is good information, as the clock ticks to get Kathryn back.

"People are stepping up and wanting to be helpful," explains Severson. "And that's what we need. We need the whole community to pull together and we'll try to get Kathryn home as soon as possible."

Deputies are also circulating flyers in the area. They have received some tips, though they say it's too early to tell if they're credible. That's why every bit of information can help.
