Suspect arrested in Nicolet High School bomb threat
GLENDALE - Fast-acting Glendale police tell TODAY'S TMJ4's Lacey Crisp they have already made an arrest after Nicolet High School was evacuated due to a bomb threat earlier today.
A Nicolet High School student has been taken into custody. Parents and officials say that student should be punished.
1,100 students were forced out of Nicolet High School this morning after a student found a hand-written bomb threat inside the boy's bathroom.
"We try to take it seriously," says Captain Mark Ferguson. "The problem is it does become so commonplace. You try not to get complacent."
Officials placed the school on lockdown, searched the building, then found two packages they say were suspicious. The building was evacuated, and the bomb squad searched it - but found nothing. The packages were harmless.
Superintendent Robert Kobylski said the suspect could face a harsh punishment.
"We’ll certainly take aggressive measures given the circumstances of the situation," he said.
Some students were supposed to take the PSATs today. School will resume tomorrow, and district officials are trying to figure out if they need to make up the day at the end of the year.
