Government shutdown could have political impact
GREEN BAY - The government shutdown could have a lasting impression on voters.
University of Wisconsin Green Bay political science professor Scott Furlong says it all depends on how long it drags on.
"We’ve had situations where the government has been shut down for a couple of weeks, everybody outwardly says they don’t want that to happen, it comes down to can they compromise," Furlong said.
Some voters are pointing the finger at both parties. Others say it could have been avoided.
Furlong says both parties are blaming each other, but republicans might suffer the most politically.
