No Labor Fest this year
MILWAUKEE - The city's annual Labor Fest event will not be held this year. Back in July organizers said the fest couldn't go on because there wasn't enough staff.
The event typically brings thousands of union workers to the Summerfest grounds on Labor Day. Instead the Coalition of Labor and Community organizations called “We are Milwaukee” will mark the occasion with a march and rally.
A march on the north side will start at the statue of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. near the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Drive and Vine Street. A south side march will start at Voces De La Frontera on 4th near Mineral. Both marches start at 11:00 Monday morning and will converge at Zeidler Union Square at noon where a rally will take place.
