Milwaukee may get more train service
MILWAUKEE - Increases in ridership may lead to more train service to and through Milwaukee.
According to the Journal Sentinel, there is a plan to up train service on the Hiawatha line between Milwaukee and Chicago from seven to 10 trips a day. Some of the new service would include express trains that go as fast as 90 miles-an-hour.
In addition, Amtrak is considering adding a second Empire Builder train that would run between Chicago and the Twin Cities. The Empire Builder runs between Chicago and Seattle. The second train would just run to the Twin Cities.
