MILWAUKEE - A man who couldn't swim has died after being pulled from the Milwaukee River.

The incident happened at about 9:00 p.m. Monday night on the 1800 block of North Commerce Street.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner says Brandon Flores, 19, was with friends and went into the river near the Lakefront Brewery to swim to the other side of the river.

He then reportedly yelled that he couldn't swim, then drowned.

A friend attempted to rescue him, but he could not.

Rescue crews extricated him from the water, but could not save his life.
