WAUKESHA-- A home was likely destroyed after a fire late Saturday afternoon, according to the Big Bend fire department.

Fortunately, no one was hurt but the flames could be seen from across town.

"I seen a lot of black smoke and then I seen, from the ball park, the flames on the side of the house," said Bill Krueger, a friend of the homeowner.

Krueger had just spoken with his friend at a company party.

The home is located on Durand Drv. off of Edgewood Ave. in the town of Big Bend.

"I can't imagine the things that the lost, the memories, the treasures, just the moments," said neighbor Brittney Joyce.

Several agencies responded to assist Big Bend due to the high heat. It is unknown at this time what caused the fire.
