RHINE - An 8-year-old boy was playing in his grandparent's front yard when he was hurt in a car crash Thursday.

The child was outside playing in Rhine, in Sheboygan County, when the driver of a 1966 Corvette lost control. The car smashed into a power pole, which in turn knocked down power lines.

The lines that fell in the yard shocked the boy. He was taken to a local hospital and then flown to Children's Hospital in Wauwatosa to be treated for his burns.

The driver has been identified as a 64-year-old man who lives in the area. He was taken into custody, but will likely be charged with a misdemeanor because the child's injuries were not severe.

The Sheriff's Department arrested the driver and says alcohol was a factor in the crash.
