Doctor dies from injuries in ambulance rollover

FOND DU LAC - A doctor injured when the ambulance he was traveling in rolled over has since died, according to WISC-TV.

Dr. Stanley Phillips, 32, was traveling in the NICU ambulance during a non-emergency when it rolled over. He suffered a serious head injury and was taken by helicopter to the hospital. The crash happened early Wednesday afternoon at Highway 26 near Willow Creek Road near Fond du Lac.

The ambulance had five people on board and were on their way to pick up a baby. A nurse and a therapist were also hurt, but the hospital said their injuries were not serious.

No patients were on board when the crash happened.
