Milwaukee woman charged in fatal stabbing
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A Milwaukee woman has been charged with killing another woman by stabbing her in the armpit.
Twenty-five-year-old Sheneeka N. Long was charged Thursday with first-degree reckless homicide in the death of 21-year-old Shirley Eskridge on Saturday afternoon.
According to the criminal complaint, Long was upset with neighbors who were calling her a derogatory term and was challenging the neighbors to fight.
It says Eskridge eventually volunteered to fight in hopes of ending the incident.
During the fight, police believe Long pulled a long kitchen knife and stabbed Eskridge three times in the left armpit, severing several arteries. She died at the scene.
Long faces up to 60 years in prison if convicted. Online court records do not list an attorney for her.
