MILWAUKEE - Just days after wrapping their 2013 festival, Summerfest has announced their numbers.

According to the festival, 840,356 patrons attended in 2013, which is 4.3 percent more than 2012’s 805,437 attendance.

The festival saw attendees from Wisconsin, as well as 49 other states and 40 countries, including Australia, Brazil, France, Spain, Mexico, Germany, Uganda and Poland, as well as others.

"Food and beverage sales at the event increased by 7% over last year’s totals in the same categories," said Jess Meiller with Summerfest.

“This year’s event was outstanding! From the music, food and beverage offerings, new daytime enhancements and promotions, attendees were able to ‘Smile On’ in a big way,” said Don Smiley, President and CEO of Milwaukee World Festival, Inc.

Meiller said that around 140,000 hours were worked by nearly 2,000 seasonal employees during the 11 days of the festival. The event also had around 400 volunteers.

Summerfest 2014 will take place June 25 - 29 and July 1 - 6,  and will be closed Monday, June 30.
