Police union plans to seek court order to follow residency law

MILWAUKEE - The fight over residency requirements continues in the city of Milwaukee.

The city's police union, the Milwaukee Police Association, says it plans to seek a court order that would allow officers to follow the new state law.

The Milwaukee Common Council says the city's charter can require all city employees to live within the city's limits, despite a new state law that mostly eliminates residency rules.
