Mother: daughter dead after stabbing
TMJ4's Yona Gavino reports from 39th and Lloyd
MILWAUKEE - It was an emotional scene in the neighborhood around the area of 39th and Lloyd. Sheryl Moe tells me her daughter was on her way to the store when another girl stabbed her. She still can't believe she's gone.
“I just left her this morning when I went to work,” explains Sheryl Moe, the victim’s mother. “I said, ‘I love you. See you tonight when I get off.’ That was the last time I saw my daughter."
Moe told TODAY’S TMJ4 that she felt numb when she heard the news.
“I just never thought I'd be here on this corner and see them getting my baby on the ground. I can’t believe she’s deceased," laments Moe.
People crowded around as police cleared the scene. It's not clear if the two women knew each other, or what provoked the attack.
“I was at work when I got a call. They said my baby was laying down in the street and it didn't look like she was going to make it,” explains Moe.
She tells TODAY’S TMJ4 that she did see police take a female suspect into custody; however, police have not confirmed that.
