MILWAUKEE - A dive team have pulled a body out of a lagoon in a north side Milwaukee park after that person drowned.

They discovered the body at about 3:45 p.m. Friday afternoon in Washington Park near Lloyd Street.

The body was found near the lagoon's shoreline.

The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office says that an elderly white man was the victim.

A child told TODAY'S TMJ4's Todd Hicks about seeing deputies discover the man's body.

"I walked passed, and they pulled the body out.  They put the yellow cover over the body, and they told us to back up," said Sarah McCats.

The Medical Examiner's office was investigating the drowning.
