MILWAUKEE - A man who was in the news due to a police beating case now faces a number of charges in a domestic abuse incident where he threatened to kill his girlfriend's family.

Frank Jude, Jr. faces charges of strangulation and suffocation, misdemeanor battery, disorderly conduct, two counts of bail jumping and unlawful use of telephones for threats in connection with an argument with his live-in girlfriend on June 20 in Wauwatosa.

If convicted on all the counts, he faces as many as 20 years and nine months in prison.

According to the criminal complaint, his girlfriend said he used cocaine, grabbed her neck and strangled her, choked her, punched her, struck her in her arms, legs and feet with a belt, slapped her and threatened to kill her and her son.  She then moved out.

Afterwards, he allegedly left messages on her voice mail threatening her life.
