Body found in alley in north Milwaukee now called a homicide

MILWAUKEE - A body was found Monday in an alley near Clarke and Fratney Streets, and Milwaukee Police are now confirming it they are investigating the death as a homicide. The call to police came in just before 8 a.m. Monday, and the person was reportedly dead upon arrival.

A 49-year-old woman from Milwaukee was found in an alley on the block of of 800 E. Clarke, but it is believed she was stabbed in an apartment on the 2600 block of N. Pierce.

According to Lt. Mark Stanmeyer with MPD, one person is currently in custody relating to the murder.
